Benefits
Veterans benefits applies to programs of  benefits and services  administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA),  in accordance with criteria authorized by Congress and set forth in Title 38, United States Code,  "Veterans Benefits" (38 USC).  Specific entitlement and eligibility requirements are set forth in Title 38,  Code of Federal Regulations,  "Pensions,  Bonuses,  and Veterans Relief."  Veterans Benefits are not automatic!  You must apply for them. It is extremely important to have a copy of your discharge/DD214 available.
Eligibility for most federal, state and local benefits is based upon discharge from active military service under other than dishonorable conditions.  However, some military personnel may be eligible for certain veterans benefits.  Find out if you are eligible for veterin benefits.
Disability Compensation is a monetary benefit paid to veterans who are disabled by injury or disease incurred or aggravated during active military service. Find out more information regarding this compensation.
The Veterans Service Agency can assist veterans in filing for their discharge records (DD214) , and placing them on file in the Westchester County Clerk's office for safe keeping.
Veterans Identification Card Day is a convenient service to the veterans enrolling in the V.A. Healthcare System. Once a month you can receive help completing the financial statement, and annual income questionnaire.

Veterans with low incomes who are permanently and totally disabled may be eligible for monetary support if they have 90 days or more of active military service,  at least one day of which was during a period of war.  Find out more information regarding your pension.
Burial benefits in a VA National Cemetery include the gravesite, the headstone or marker, opening and closing of the grave, and maintenance of the grounds. Come find out more information regarding burial benefits.
Eligibility for certain veterans' benefits may be contingent upon active service in the Armed Forces during one or more periods of war.  Veterans serving in more than one period of war may combine their active duty days to make the 90 days required for certain VA benefits.
