In this section, you will find out detailed information about Veteran benefits, and what you need to apply for them.  As an advocate for veterans and their families, Westchester County counselors work closely with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal, state, local and private agencies to provide optimal service at the local level.
The Veterans Service Agency can assist veterans in filing for their discharge records (DD214) , and placing them on file in the Westchester County Clerk's office for safe keeping.

Eligibility for most federal, state and local benefits is based upon discharge from active military service other than dishonorable conditions.  However, some military personnel may be eligible for certain veterans benefits

  
In an effort to Support Our Troops the Westchester County Veterans Service Agency is sending care packages to Westchester County residents who are currently on active duty overseas. The following letters are from soldiers currently in Iraq.

Disability Compensation is a monetary benefit paid to veterans who are disabled by injury or disease incurred or aggravated during active military service.  Find out more about this type of compensation.
