Field Trips
Tours of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) are free of charge and given on an appointment basis. The tour educates participants about the recycling process in Westchester. Groups are taken to an observation tower and are shown machinery that separate, sort, and prepare materials to be sold to vendors.
Teachers are encouraged to make use of this facility for class trips for elementary, middle school and high-school history students.
 
The Westchester County Department of Parks Conservation Division runs several nature centers that hold interpretive programs for all ages. Learn about native plant and animal species as well as the wealth of available resources.
Muscoot Farm is an early-1900s interpretive farm owned and operated by the Westchester County Department of Parks.  Muscoot Farm is open year-round and offers a full schedule of programs for families, as well as tours, farmyard visits, and hayrides for groups by reservation.
