These publications and studies are provided to assist the caregiver, senior citizen or any member of the household with taking care of the elderly. Senior citizens can learn how they can save money on utility/heating, prescriptions, medicare costs, rent, property taxes and minor home repairs in the 2006 Financial Savings & Benefits Guide.  Additional resources include the Millenium Aging Project,  promotion of community partnerships,  the establishment of Caregiver Resource Centers, an informative newsletter and bulletin listing upcoming events and activities, and Medigap, a supplemental insurance designed to cover the fees that Medicare does not cover.
A seasonal issue that explores issues related to seniors regarding health care, elder abuse, legislation safeguarding perscription drugs, caregiver resources, and the recent White House conference that covered a top ten list of important issues to be addressed.
Because of illness or injury, you may be unable to talk to a doctor and make decisions about your treatment. You may wish to plan in advance to help make sure that your wishes about treatment will be followed if you become unable to make those decisions.
