Westchester wants young people to be informed so they can make the best decisions possible
Some of the topics covered in this section are: consumer (buying tips), driving, jobs & volunteerism, the arts, education (including college and homework help), and health to educate youth on issues such as underage drinking, bullying and communicating with parents. The county’s Fit Kids program works with schools to offer ways to encourage kids to eat healthier and get more exercise.

The Westchester County Travel Training Program was designed to teach people with developmental disabilities who have the motivation to learn to travel independently. Here you will also learn about federal assistance programs, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the Medicaid Buy-in Program.
The lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Westchester County is as diverse as the general population
Recognizing that fact, the County offers a variety of resources that will help connect you with the local LGBT community, provide access to help if you need it, and keep you informed of current issues. Westchester County wants to inform senior citizens about what matters most
One in five Westchester residents is 60 or over, making Westchester ahead of the national curve when it comes to the numbers of older adults, which is why many more programs, partnerships, activities and workshops, were established in order to provide seniors with superior quality of life. There are many resources that caregivers can access with information on support groups, extra assistance, and helpful tips that will assist them in successfully taking care of their loved ones. The “Caring” newsletter provides bulletins of upcoming events, and workshops that may interest seniors. A Directory of contact numbers and addresses is available to direct caregivers and seniors if they need more information.

As an advocate for the Veterans and their families, Westchester County counselors work closely with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal, state, local and private agencies.
