The Office of the Westchester County Clerk returns original documents once they have been recorded, scanned and digitally archived by our office. If you cannot locate your original document, our office can provide you with a certified copy which has the same validity as your original document.
To obtain a certified copy of a land record such as your deed, visit the Land Records Division of the Office of the Westchester County Clerk which is located at 110 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in White Plains between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays. To obtain a certified copy of your land record by mail, please send a letter which contains as much of the following information as possible:
- the name of the document you are searching for such as "a deed"; and
- the name of the owner, the property address including the village, town or city; and
- the approximate date of the transaction; and
- the liber and page number or the control number, if known.
Please include a check payable to "Westchester County Clerk" in the amount of $5.00 for documents up to four pages plus $1.25 for each additional page. Cash is not accepted and all fees must be included with your written request. Please mail your request to the Office of the Westchester County Clerk, 110 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. White Plains, NY 10601. Please also include a self-addressed stamped envelope in which your document will be returned. If you are unsure of the fee, please note the amount not to be exceeded on the check and a staff member will fill in the appropriate amount for you.
