Preserving open space is an important prioirty of County Executive Andy Spano. His administration has helped preserve, throughout the county, important parcels of land, large and small. The county welcomes sugestions on what other parcels of land should be preserved.

The county has a major responsibility to preserve the quality of life in Westchester by protecting its scenic quality, environmental integrity and recreational opportunities.
Westchester has an extensive system of trails for hiking and biking. Find out where they are.

RiverWalk is County Executive Andy Spano’s vision of a 46-mile river walk along the scenic Hudson River. It will be a continuous trailway along the entire Hudson River shoreline in Westchester County, from the Putnam County border to New York City.
