User-Friendly Website Offers Access to Services Around the Clock

WHITE PLAINS, NY: Need to look up your deed, find a legal record, or learn how to become a notary public? Need information on obtaining a pistol permit or hunting license? Want to know when the mobile passport office is coming to your town?  Westchester County residents can always call or visit the Westchester County Clerk’s office during business hours for this information.  However, 24-hour access to the answers to these questions and more can also be found by visiting the Westchester County Clerk website, www.westchesterclerk.com.

The website, launched in late 2007 and continually updated, is part of Westchester County Clerk Timothy Idoni’s continuing effort to modernize and streamline his office.  “The website is an integral part of our commitment to bring government to the people,” began Idoni.  “It may not be convenient for Westchester County residents to visit or call our office during regular business hours,” he continued.  And in keeping in step with the times, many already look for the information they need on the internet.  “We are here to serve the residents of Westchester County and so when we redesigned the website, we wanted to ensure that residents have access to information whenever they need it and outside of the normal business day,” said Idoni.

Visitors to the website will find vastly improved user-friendly access to services, information, forms and links.  Keeping in mind ease of navigation for users, the website is divided into four sections with drop down menus:  News, Legal Division, Land Records, and Services & Resources.  From the website, users can find among the many services, the answers to frequently asked questions, the latest county clerk news, download forms and passport applications, and view the latest up-to-date calendar for when the mobile outreach office is coming to their community.

A new feature added over the past year is a series of three county clerk produced informational videos entitled, “Need to Apply for a U.S. Passport?”, “Hiring a Plumber or Electrician?” and, “Just Ask: Frequently Asked County Clerk Questions”    Located on the homepage, these videos provide pertinent information about these services with easy to follow step by step details and instructions for viewers.  In addition, users of the website have access to the County Clerk’s Public Viewer. With this service, users can access an index of filed and recorded documents at no cost.  Customers only pay a minimal daily user fee if they wish to view imaged documents on file in the county clerk’s office.

The Office of the Westchester County Clerk is located at 110 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in White Plains and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays.  Visit our website for more information, or contact us at cclerk@westchestergov.com or (914)995-3082.
